This bodiless creation ecstasy
-Hamlet: III, iv

Painting evokes unexpected changes in my identity. Within my mind a possibility emerges; a nascent longing for anarchy in my well-controlled life. Due to the vast possibilities of accident, or fortune, I am able to find expression without control. A lesson in my true powerlessness makes me an artist. Layers, mixtures, and colors become not a conscious choice, but surrender to intemperance.
